It is within easy access of the motorway making it an ideal place to settle for commuters. It allows people to experience the belonging of community whilst not being too far from the hustle and bustle of city life. The village is served well with local transport and is only a short journey from Leicester city centre where there is a wide choice of shops and services and has a good selection of nightclubs and casinos for those seeking a lively nightlife.

The local council is smaller than some but works more closely and personally with the community than some of the larger ones, it is friendly, approachable and works hard to achieve targets that help the environment. The parish council holds regular meetings for the public in the village hall promoting the interests of the village and residents in conjuction with the council. We have an approachable village constable and community support officer policing our village whilst liasing with the residents to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.

The local primary school has a high reputation and is often the hub of the village social scene holding a number of events that include fetes, craft fares and firework displays amongst many, if you want to find out whats going on check up and coming events or plan ahead. Close by are playgroups and a nursery enabling working mothers to save precious time whist ensuring their children are well cared for, these too are close to the park where thay can burn off some energy safely.
