Hi and welcome to the new site

September 13th, 2007 · No Comments · News

This site has been developed by husband and wife Mark and Jacqui and we have lived in the village since 1989.

A vast number of websites and community resources were viewed to research the development and potential value of this site. None demonstrated a level of collective involvement and responsibility that we are attempting to encapsulate. Unlike other village websites this one is not intended to be just informative or restrictively commented on, more so an interactive method of giving and receiving of information about the village and the people in it as and when it occurs. No more waiting for weekly flyer’s, monthly magazines, quarterly reports or even tom-toms or the village gossip, but as and when it happens.

The reasoning behind this site is to hopefully encompass all aspects of village life. To have at your fingertips an interesting and useful resource that could quickly and efficiently help villagers and visitors alike to be able to find anything and everything they wish to know or inform others about “Kirby Muxloe”.
So if you, your family, your friends or your neighbours would like to be involved, by either making an occasional contribution or by having a regular column about an aspect of village life, get in touch.

You may want to verbalise your frustrations concerning refuse collection, dog fouling or tell people how changes in the village effect you. Perhaps you might like to say how beautiful the flower displays provided by the Parish Council are in the spring or how bare it looks in the winter. Are you one of the so-called antisocial hoodies that get walked around and away from? Would you like to provide “the old folk” with some insight into the trials and tribulations of what it is like to be young nowadays and how you are simply expressing your individuality. Too old for the park, too young for the pub, too late for school, too early to go to bed and too bored to stay in and watch Eastenders with parents that are too embarrassing to invite anyone in!

You could initiate a debate, give a valuable contribution to an existing one or simply read the latest topic of interest.
