“Oh Deer”

June 10th, 2008 · 1 Comment

When my husband took the dog for a walk on Saturday morning he came across a lifeless baby deer.To me this was suspicious given the location it was found is pedestrianised, under the M1 bridge on Glenfield Lane.

Maybe I’m  wrong being suspicious but i was not aware that this  was  an area  that was home to  fallow deer. Our dog is taken for long surrounding walks and n the last three years not one solitary deer has been spotted. My husband thought that maybe it had fallen from transportation on the road alongside or above, I’m more inclined to believe there was foul play especially giving that the area is used for the taking of drugs and “horizontal dancing”, if you get my drift.

If you know of any deer here or have spotted any please let me know.

I was walking along Forest Drive through Kirby Fields one evening a few years ago and a Muntjack deer walked across the road just in front of me.

I have since spoken to other villagers that have also confirmed that there are Muntjack deer living in the fields between Kirby Fields and the M1 motorway. They are very secretive though.
