Just in time for christmas and in-line with the credit crunch, fraudsters are exploiting peoples need for cash.
This post is to alert you of emails published by tricksters with their fingers on the financial pulse to exploit the interest in Government tax breaks. The emails pose as offers for “family maintenance”. The nesage appears to come from the non-existent “UK Government & Ministry of Finance” and is offering a refund of between £450 to £650. Directions are given to fill in forms requiring your personal details, these are then collated to build profiles for subsequent identity fraud scams.
Unskillful samples were identified by security firm “Sophos” that warns fo a general rise of scams in the run up to Christmas.
