Back in September I published a post regarding “a first responders” initiative. Tonight i answered the door to a St John Ambulance representative with reference to supporting this enterprise.

As St John Ambulance and this initiative is not Government funded, like so many other good causes and charities, they are asking for both financial and community support. No huge sums are being asked for, any amount will help and it is taken quarterly beginning February.

I remain a little hesitent over having a neighbour respond to you in an emergency, but lets face it, in an emergency who would really care.I also have concerns that once your status is known, would you get people using you as a local NHS Direct?
