Have you had your door knocked recently to people seeking charitable support? I have had my door knocked on more than one occasion, this time for Marie Curie.

I am a charitable person, my husband and i give to 5 charities on a monthly basis, but i object to having someone knock on my door for support. They began by stating they were not after any money, simply support and whom/what for. After informing them that i was not in a position to give at present, they added that it was only three pound a month, the thing is that these £3.00 add up.

I feel guilty saying no at my own door, but then i sometimes believe this is the reaction they want in order to gain the support they are after, i hated saying no. I don’t want to be asked to give, correct me if i’m wrong but if you are asked then that is not giving is it?
