Reviewing comments today I noticed a recurring theme on the, “post post-office takeover”. Long standing characters of the village like Malcom from the Post Office and Jerry from Hartley’s are very sadly missed. A couple that I greatly miss, albeit not as long-standing as those previously mentioned, are Jaz & Max and The Family Store on Barwell Road.
Given the support received at a charity event held last month at Kirby Primary School, In remembrance of their daughter tragically lost to meningitis, I know for sure that many others do too.
So we are compiling a list here, anymore to add? Perhaps we could have a Kirby “This is your Character Life” at the Village Hall, who would you have as the host?
One final sighting that will tickle you all. Andrew Bingham seen clearing all the snow from his front garden as his beloved plants are rotting to the core! Just like his prize allotment vegetables.
