With reference to the recent news item regarding the publicices list of fully paid up members of the BNP, how do you react to it?

As this political party has legitimate seats and it is not illegal to be a member, nor of any political party, why is this such a newsworthy item? Is it because it made public the political views of so many people, the fact that some of the names on the list should not hold their positions in society with such extreme views, or the fact that there is still shame attatched to being so outwardly racist?

This list though now withdrawn has been displayed and as anyone in IT will know, withdrawn does not mean not available, and now any damage limitation could be or is extensive.

It may shock you to know that amongst the list were the details of seven residents of Kirby Muxloe, so how do you react now?

The thing is I simply wish to know if i am the only person to receive this flyer so I can scrutinise my car for any damage which is not instantly visible, or am i one of many that received it in the hope that someone who does have some damage will call and pay them to fix it, or worse still is some damage being created in order to get work? I doubt the third very much but the thought had crossed my mind.

I was under the impression that Kirby is or will be a no flyer area, extremely hard to initiate and maintain though with so many avenues to access homes.

This is the name of a website that I visited today. Simply putting in your postcode can alert you to any problems on your street, reported pothols, dog fouling, graffiti or fly tipping etc.

This service is free and you can report, view or discuss any local problems, whats more this site can report the problem to the correct council for you in relation to your postal code.

You might be interested in taking a look to see if there is perhaps any risk of flooding or even a car business being run from home. You can actually see if the problem has previously been reported, not only that but when it was reported, who reprted it and when it will be fixed.

I found a property website, Houseproperty.co.uk, that i found both interesting tand disturbing.

This website surrounds a property house database which is based on the HM Land Registry Dataset between April 1st 2000 and the present day. It shows an average house price grouped by post codes, localities and towns etc. It boasts as having the most comprhensive source of property information available, being used by sellers, buyers and estate agents.

It is a little contradictory in that it states, “street rankings do not reflect the difference in size of properties on particular streets”, but goas on to add, “the rankings favour streetswhere the properties are larger on average and hence more expensive”.

The site shows Cherry Tree Court at lower end of the scale at £42,875 and having had 4 transactions, whilst at the top end of the scale is Stamford Drive at a cost of £568,500 and having had 5 transactions. The most sales have occurred on Barons Close at 91 with Ellis Drive, Rosendene Close and Carey Gardens havving made only 3.

What i found interesting was the difference in price as to what they class as average and the actual cost of the properties they are currently valued at. The disturbing fact is the riculous cost. A work colleague won £300 on a scratch card and joked as to whether she should pay off her mortgage with the proceesds, the funny thing was that £3 would have because her house was bout in the seventies for only £3000.

Take a look and see where you rank and how you rank remembering that the prices are an average.

I was pleasantly surprised this year with the trick or treaters that came to my door. Young children colourfully dressesd and accompanied by their parents. It certainly made a change from last year, teenagers in scream masks wearing black bin bags.

Although bonfire night is actually this evening many well organised displays have been and gone. I am quite pleased that my children have now outgrown the need for mum and dad to freeze whilst lighting up the garden with an hours worth of expense and a Hot Dogs to keep their hands warm.

So how was yours? enjoyable and looking forward to next years, or scary, expensive and glad it’s over?

I need to announce my most sincere apologies to Tom Reed of Kirby Muxloe Day Nursery, Tom i am so sorry.

Back in March Mr. Reed sent a communication that he thought may have been of interest to our readers. Unfortunately due to email problems incurred at that time we did not actually receive it, until now that is. It stated that all the meals, snacks and drinks provided at the nursery were 100% organic and not only that, they were one of only a few in the UK to do so.

As many parents are now seeking healthier options for their children, this nursery guarentees that all ingredients they use are organic and have committed to comply with The Soil Association Code of Practice for organic catering.

I have invited Tom to write a post and perhaps include some pictures, I hope he will accept both my apologies and invitation.

Did you catch that totally ubelievable picture of Our County Council Leader on a bike in Septembers issue of Leicestershier matters? I know he likes to be seen to be doing something positive, but please!

Having had the necessity to call on this mans services to Leicestershire I can honestly say how useless he was to me. He has an ego bigger than Simon Cowell, (for those of you who do not watch the X Factor) it is HUGE!. He is arrogant and impersonal, making a call his first words were, “Parsons here”, says it all really expecting everyone to know who he is and then bow to his whim. The best bit however was when he had to then explain who he was.

Has anyone else had dealings with him? was it positive or negative?
