The policing of our village is undertaken by PC Carl Sutherley (1380), assisted by PCSO Paul Shine (6076). They are very approachable ensuring effective relations with our community, whilst working hard in securing a safe environment.
More than 400 people signed up to take part in a new crime-fighting initiative in Kirby in July 2006. Operation Kirby was the brainchild of our beat bobby.
We can contact Carl or Paul directly by either e-mailing them via the Leicestershire Constabulary link below, or alternatively by reporting any suspicious activity in the village leaving a voicemail message by contacting 0116 2485675 and entering their personal identification (collar) number.
He can send us e-mails giving warning to be on our guard if there has been a spate of burglaries in the area, inform us about any anti-social behaviour, vandalism and more.
He contacted every resident in the village by letter asking us to sign up to the scheme and most of us welcomed the idea.
Not only is it helpful to be able to contact the police directly, but perhaps if people are aware they are being watched, they may think twice before committing the crime.
The village has been divided into 11 zones to make alerts regarding crime in their area easier.
By asking residents of opinions on policing issues in the village and letting us know of his ideas, we all get to be the eyes and ears of the village. If would-be criminals are aware that as a village we work with the police on fighting cime, they may hopefully steer clear of Kirby Muxloe.

“Sorry to any neighbouring villages that are not yet privelidged to be part of this scheme”
If you wish to sign up to “Operation Kirby” (O.K), simply contact him using the aforementioned methods leaving your name, address and contact number.
To date Carl has completed 17 street surgeries to allow people to talk over any issues or concerns with him, as well as the opportunity to build a rapport with him. He can also be reached at his monthly beat surgery at the village library on Station Road, details are advertised there or at the post office on Main Street.
Neighbourhood policing is one of the Police priorities, by working in partnership with other agencies local issues can be resolved more effectively. The Blaby ‘Joint Action Group’. or JAG, meet regularly to discuss problems that occur within the Blaby District, as always there is encouragement to voice any concerns either to Carl or the Blaby District Council.
